Almost every couple says the same thing when they book: we are not good in front of a camera. It is the normal case rather than the exception, and the session is built around it. The first fifteen minutes are spent walking and talking rather than posing, and practically nothing from them is kept — they exist so that by the time the photographs start, nobody is performing being photographed.
The route is two locations on foot, planned around the hour rather than the diary. In Seville that means Santa Cruz in open shade and the Triana bank at the end of the day; in Barcelona the Gothic Quarter in the morning and the hills at sunset; in San Sebastián it barely matters, because a north-facing bay has no bad hour. Each city page says which, and the photographer who answers already knows.
Forty retouched photographs, delivered to a private gallery within 48 to 72 hours, including the frames made walking between the two locations — which are, more often than not, the ones people end up printing.
