The trade winds put a permanent shelf of cloud over the northern half of the island and leave the south a desert, so "what will the weather be" has no answer without "on which side" — and for a party of under twenty, both sides are reachable in one day. Above 2,000 metres in the Teide caldera you are over the cloud layer entirely: an ochre lava desert, a volcano, and a floor of white cloud below you with the peak of La Palma sticking out of it a hundred kilometres away. It is fifteen degrees colder than the coast and nobody who drives up ever brings a coat.
The hour matters more than the location. For Parque Nacional del Teide, Roques de García y el Llano de Ucanca, the window to aim for is the first hour of light, or after sunset for the sky. The session runs 4 hours and is built around that window rather than around your diary — it is the one variable that genuinely changes the photographs, and it costs nothing.
What does the session in Tenerife look like?
Coverage runs 4 hours and follows your schedule rather than a fixed route. When a gap opens for composed frames, we step out to Parque Nacional del Teide, Roques de García y el Llano de Ucanca or Playa de Benijo y el Roque de las Bodegas — a few minutes on foot, which is that much less taken out of the day.
