Ninety minutes is enough for a holiday session and it is only enough if it is the right ninety. Every location on this site has an hour — the Plaza de España before half past eight, Bogatell as the sun comes out of the sea, Cala d’Hort at the other end of the day — and a session booked for eleven in the morning because it suited the itinerary gets a version of the place nobody would choose. In a Spanish summer it also gets 38 degrees. The scheduling is the service; the photography is the easy part.
Forty retouched photographs from one neighbourhood on foot, which is deliberately not a tour. A session that tries to take in four districts spends the time in transit and comes back with four backgrounds and no photographs. One place, properly, at the hour it works.
Book the first morning of the trip rather than the last. If the weather turns there is somewhere left in the week to move it to, and the gallery lands within 48 hours — which means it is on your phone while you are still there, rather than arriving a month later when the trip has already become a memory.
